- Automatic event updates - Visitors to your list will be able to subscribe to event updates. This will sned them a reminder of the time, date and location of the event and also any updates that you want to post them. Send updates to all visitors who are subscribed from one screen. You will also be able to see a list of who has subscribed.

Hit counters - Now you and your friends can see how many times each list and each item on the list have been viewed. Last update info - To help friends see how "fresh" your list is they can now see when you last updated your list and each item on it. Add items via email - If you have an idea for something you want to add to your list you don't even need to open your browser. Just send an email to "mylist@whattogive.com" from an email address that you've registered with us and we'll automatically add the contents of the email to your list. The subject becomes the item title and the body of the email becomes the description. If the email contains a picture attachment then we'll add that to the item. If it contains a web address then we'll add a link to that page. October 2006
Disable image auto-enlarge - Some people love it others hate it. We've now added an option on the settings page so you can switch off the image auto-enlarge so that images don't grow when you hover your mouse over them. This will apply to your list when you view it yourself and when others view your list. Item comments - Visitors can now leave comments on items on your list. These are visible to other friends viewing your list. Of course, as list owner, you can choose to delete any of these comments. You can also choose to disable this feature if you don't want it (look on the settings page). August 2006
Name search hint - If your name is common enough to occur twice in our database you can now supply a "name search hint" to help people differentiate between you and any other John Smith's in the database. Write anything you like which your friends will recognise you by. July 2006
Choice of look and feel - If orange isn't your thing then you can choose an alternative look and feel for the site with slightly less orange in it! We're still working on a completely new look which we hope to roll out early next year but we hope this will help in the mean time! Promise cancellation - If guests find they can't get what they said they would they can now cancel their promise and the item will be relisted. Multiple item operations - You can now perform some operations on more than one item from your list at the same timedelete, change priority or move to a different list. The "Select all reserved items" option lets you quickly delete or move all items that were promised after your special event. May 2006
Others can add items to your list - Look for the "Allow friends to add items" options on the settings page. You can either choose for items added to be a surprise which you can't see until your special day, or you can allow people to add suggestions which you can check before they become active on your list. Alternate name support - You can now supply two different names so that friends will be able to find your list by searching for your nickname or your fiance's name. April 2006
List of stuff you've promised - View all the items you have promised to get all your friends. At a glance on one screen - Just log in and look at bottom of the "FRIENDS" page - here you'll find a list of all the things you've promised to get others. Search by name as well as email - By popular demand! Now your friends can find your list by searching for your name not just your email address! December 2005
Email reminders - If you tell us about special occassions (anniversary, birthday etc.) we'll send your friends automatic email reminders. November 2005
Pictures - If you enter a web address for an item we will guess which of the pictures on the page is the best one and use this. If you don't like our choice you can click the "choose image" button and choose a different image from the item's original web page. Automatic item info - When you enter a web address for an item the site will now automatically try and grab the item name and the item price, as well as guessing which is the best image. PayPal Integration - You can now choose for people who promise to contribute towards an item are taken straight to PayPal with their contribution being paid into your PayPal account. October 2005
Message board - Your own private message board to exchange messages with viewers of your list Translation - Whilst on holiday in Canada I did some fairly major work reworking the site to enable the whole site to be translated into other languages. Now, with the kind assistance of Jonathan Bisson, we can bring you the site in French! If anyone would like to help provide other translations please let me know using the feedback page. RSS - I have added RSS feeds for both your list and your friends lists. For more info on this click here Javascript bookmarklet - This allows you to add any item that you currently have in your browser window quickly to your WhatToGive list. For more information about this feature click here More surprises - You can now choose not to see what items have been promised when you log in to your own list to administer it. To switch this feature on look at the "My Settings" page Promise receipts - When a friend promises to get a gift from your list they are now invited to print of a "promise receipt". This acts as a reminder to them as to what they promised to get and it is also something that they can send to you to show what they have promised.

List statistics - Look in the "My Settings" page and you will now find a box in the "Optional features" section labeled "Show list statistics" if you switch this on then a totals for your lists will be displayed at the bottom of each list. Extra promise viewing bits - You may have noticed the new "All Promises" button at the top of the main list administration page (it ony appears if someone has actually promised to get something!). Here you can see all the promises for all items all on one page. You can also now tick boxes here to indicate if the promise has been received and if you have said thanks to the giver. If you tick these boxes the system will remember which you have ticked and when you ticked them. Draft list support - Add items to a draft list that won't be visible to other people viewing your list. Just set the "who/what is it for" box to something with "draft" or "unconfirmed" in it and the list and all items on it will be hidden from your visitors. To make it visible you can either rename the whole list all at once or move items one by one to another list. Your event page - A fully editable page where you can add as much detail as you want about your special event. You can upload a photo to brighten the page up as well as including links to your other sites. If you enter the postcode of where the event will be taking place then we'll automatically add a link to a map. You choose whether guests see this page before or after they see your gift list.

More automatic linking - Support for more stores added. Just add the catalogue number or product ID and we'll automatically add a link to the relevant page on the store's website. Supported stores: Dixons, Marks and Spencer and Argos. Guests now have access to the printable version - Now they can print your list off for themselves - obviously they don't get to see who vouched for what or the answers to your security questions as is possible when you print your own list! Don't want to spoil the surprise? - In "My Settings" you can now choose whether or not you want to be notified when viewers promise to get items from your list. If you want more of a surprise then switch this of. Support for some external gift lists added - There is now automatic support for adding links to the following gift lists to your list: So just give your friends your WhatToGive list details and they will be able to get to all your other ilsts from one place. - Added a cost field - You can now specify the cost of each item. This is displayed in the list of items so that viewers of your list can see at a glance how much each item costs.
- Support for monetary contributions - For more expensive items that you don't expect one person to buy all on their own you can now use the "invite partial contributions" option in the "How Many?" pulldown. When a viewer promises to contribute towards this item they will be invited to say how much they want to contribute. The item will remain on your list until the full amount has been promised. You could also use this to encourage viewers of your list to pledge money to a charity.
- Better support for multiple items - Now you can specify how many of each item you want - not just 1 or many but any number. Viewers will be able to promise to get the item until that qunatity have been promised. When promising to get an item the viewer is now asked how many they intend to get.
- Tabbed display of separate sub-lists - When you have multiple sub-lists (i.e. more than one recipient) items for each recipient are shown as different "tabs" both when administering your list and when others view it. Each tab shows how many items there are for that recipient.

- See who has promised to get you what and when. The promised column shows you how many people have promised to get you each item. If someone has you can click the arrow that will appear to see who promised to get it, when, and if they left you a message.
