Coming Soon

November 2006

  • Hit counters - Now you and your friends can see how many times each list and each item on the list have been viewed.
  • Last update info - To help friends see how "fresh" your list is they can now see when you last updated your list and each item on it.
  • Add items via email - If you have an idea for something you want to add to your list you don't even need to open your browser. Just send an email to "mylist@whattogive.com" from an email address that you've registered with us and we'll automatically add the contents of the email to your list. The subject becomes the item title and the body of the email becomes the description. If the email contains a picture attachment then we'll add that to the item. If it contains a web address then we'll add a link to that page.
  • October 2006

  • Disable image auto-enlarge - Some people love it others hate it. We've now added an option on the settings page so you can switch off the image auto-enlarge so that images don't grow when you hover your mouse over them. This will apply to your list when you view it yourself and when others view your list.
  • Item comments - Visitors can now leave comments on items on your list. These are visible to other friends viewing your list. Of course, as list owner, you can choose to delete any of these comments. You can also choose to disable this feature if you don't want it (look on the settings page).

  • Choice of look and feel - If orange isn't your thing then you can choose an alternative look and feel for the site with slightly less orange in it! We're still working on a completely new look which we hope to roll out early next year but we hope this will help in the mean time!

  • RSS - I have added RSS feeds for both your list and your friends lists. For more info on this click here

If you tick these boxes the system will remember which you have ticked and when you ticked them.
  • Draft list support - Add items to a draft list that won't be visible to other people viewing your list. Just set the "who/what is it for" box to something with "draft" or "unconfirmed" in it and the list and all items on it will be hidden from your visitors. To make it visible you can either rename the whole list all at once or move items one by one to another list.
  • Your event page - A fully editable page where you can add as much detail as you want about your special event. You can upload a photo to brighten the page up as well as including links to your other sites. If you enter the postcode of where the event will be taking place then we'll automatically add a link to a map. You choose whether guests see this page before or after they see your gift list.
